“Ordered 2 of the long sleeve pocket Tee shirts for work wear here in the country. I needed protection from Deer Flies as well as sun protection. The shirts are slightly warm but do offer great protection. Fit is good, a little tight in the arms, length of sleeves are good. Overall, very satisfied.”
“I had assumed that Insect Shield products worked as advertised, and I wear them when I work outdoors or go for hikes. However, part of me did wonder how well they actually worked (I am sure the company tested them, but I am a scientist and I like to see the evidence for myself). One day I was in my washroom and found a live tick. I put the tick on the counter and grabbed this Insect Shield shirt that was hanging nearby. I gently (not trying to squash it) held the shirt over the tick for about 20 seconds. When I removed the shirt, the tick's legs were curled up and it looked to be dead or at least incapacitated. I was pleasantly reaffirmed in my trust of these products. I do not think there is any way a tick could land on an Insect Shield shirt, pants, etc. and do anything other than drop off or die.
