“As I said about the shorter version of these pants, they are incredibly comfortable, so much so that I would like to have them just for their own sake, let alone for the fact that they are protecting me from all the nasty ticks and chiggers that are currently swarming Arkansas”
“I'm 5' 2", 120 lbs. and I purchased the small and the medium. Both fit, but I lean toward the medium for extra comfort in the waist. I can wear them almost anywhere and stay comfortable and protected from bug bites. I purchased both the black and the heather gray, which is a very nice shade of gray. The length is slightly long but gives me added protection from ticks and chiggers that are in the grass.”
“Usually buy medium but bought a large for comfort. Lightweight and breathable and no bites from hiking in Alaska where the mosquito is the state bird.”
“I have worn these pants hiking in the hot, humid summer months, and they are lightweight and comfortable. Even while walking through tall grass and brush, I was not bothered by ticks and mosquitos when wearing these. Great investment!”
“I gave these pants as a birthday gift to one who has a love to hike but hate/fear of bugs. Her reaction when she opened her gift, and heard the were insect repellent, was priceless. Worthy of more than five stars. She loves the fit and feel of the pants. We have not tested them in the wild, so sadly I can not speak to the effectiveness of the repellent. I have high expectations and am excited to shop for for gifts here often. For now I can give four stars.”
“I had my doubts about these pants before ordering them. They looked a little geeky in the photos, and I was afraid they would be either too baggy in the butt, or worse, too short in the rise and constantly feeling like they were slipping down. They were neither; they fit me perfectly, and I don't say that often. For those who appreciate measurements of critical fit points, like me, here are the numbers:
Pant Size SMALL: Front Rise: 10"
Back Rise: 14"
Inseam: 30"
Me: 5'5"/115 lbs
The fabric is light enough to be comfortable on warm days for walking my dog, which is my primary use for them. No, they're not high fashion, but they look darn good for our walks, and I'm not embarrassed to be seen in them, nor is my hound embarrassed to be seen with me.
Of course, my main motivation for buying these was to get protection from ticks, as my dog likes to walk in the weeds and tall grasses in the neighborhood, as well as in the woods. I pair these with Insect Shield socks. Also, bought a can of Permethrin to spray my shoes, which I do about once a month. I've found this 3-prong approach to be really effective at repelling ticks, and without having to worry about those little buggers, I enjoy being outside so much more than before.
I bought the gray pants, and will eventually buy the black ones as well. Count me a fan.”
“What a nice surprise. These actually look much more flattering on than in the advertising photo. They have a nice drape and are very comfortable. They could pass for dress pants with a hip (or longer) length top. Since you do not offer capris which I prefer for kayaking, I tried these and found they push up and stay up over my knees while wading into the water, then stay up or roll down(depending on the weather) for paddling. Since they don’t wrinkle, they still look great when I disembark and protect me as I make landfall in tick territory. Oh yes, and the fabric dries very quickly, too! So glad I tried them. :)”
