“We use 6 colors of the 1/2 inch dot stickers to indicate the month we place a book on our sale tables in the used bookstore we operate within our local library. If a book remains on the sale table for 3 months it is removed and repurposed. The sticker color tells us which books to remove. We repeat the color every 6 months. The dot on the spine tells customers it’s a sale book and tells the volunteers how long the book has been on the sale tables. The system has worked well for several years. The labels stick to the book spines well but seem to come off easily from the roll’s backing paper so we lose a few.

“I volunteer at a used book store within a local library. We use the color dot stickers to mark sale books, those that are older or more "used" than the ones we put on the regular shelves at a higher price. We use one color sticker for each month and remove the books from the sale area after 3 months, then donate or recycle them. The stickers work well on the book spines, just the right amount of "stick".”
