I've never smelled Aventus, but this for sure is my favorite go to.......it also last hours on my skin.........the lemon note is wonderful, the smokiness is a great compliment.........my edc from now on!!!! “Smells Great but Doesn't project or last very long: 1-2 hrs max.I guess since its inexpensive you can just reapply as needed.I've also tried1) Afnan Supremacy Silver: Great scent, better projection than L'Aventure, but will not last more than 3 hrs.2) Armaf Club de Nuit intense: Great scent but Starts out very harsh but improves after 15 minutes, lasts about 3-4 hours.3) Lattafa Al-Dur al Maknoon ; The weakest aventus clone I've tried. Smells good but doesn't last more than 1 hr. Pro's is that its very cheap.”

I spend a lot of Creed but I'm pleased to replace it with this. It would be a great gift. seems like you spent much more than you did. I will buy more for sure !
