“I was selected to receive some samples of some colognes by Bzzagent. One was Dolce & Gabbana "The One" for Men. There is a whole art to reviewing cologne I have discovered during this sampling. The top notes are the light scents that evaporate quickly and disappear. The heart notes are the scents that arrive just before the top notes end. The purpose of the heart notes are to soften the transition from the top notes to the base notes. The base notes bring depth to the cologne. The heart notes and base notes are the scents that stick around and make up the personality of the cologne. Who knew there was such a science. "The One" claims top notes of Grapefruit, Coriander and Basil. Heart notes of Cardamom and Ginger. Base notes of Tobacco, Am...”
“Some background first: I do wear cologne every day but I do not use “fancy†brands. Mine usually consists of something mild from Bath & Body works. Also, I keep using a brand of cologne until they stop making it so I’ve probably only used 2 different brands in my life. When testing this, I made sure I showered each morning and made the wife check me at the end of the day to determine if the scent lasted. I tried Dolce & Gabbana for Men and thought it was a good scent compared to the other scents I tested. It definitely lasts throughout the day (I am a very active person). My wife did not like it. Even though it was a descent scent, I would not buy this because it’s a little too “fancy†for me.”

“I received the Dolce&Gabbana The One for Men as a sample from BzzAgent, and had a chance to try it while out and at work. It’s a Woodsy, gingery scent with some tobacco undertones in the background. It’s distinctively warm, intimate, and even a little mature or seductive. Definitely more of an intimate or evening fragrance, particularly in the winter months. However, it’s not too bold or flashy, and the scent sufficiently mild to be acceptable year-round. Unfortunately, the scent barely projects and last only a couple of hours. I received some nice complements, but those same people could barely smell anything unless they were really trying, and there was nothing left by the end of the workday or evening.”
