“Smells Like Creed Aventus. Three to four sprays lasts about 7-8 hours. I purchased both this and Insurrection II. Insurrection lasts about 4-5 hours and has a sweeter opening that turned to more of a powdery scent with little smokiness. Armaf has a sweet and smoky opening that projects better. It also lasts much longer. I sprayed each one on a different wrist to compare. Armaf, IMHO smelled much better and was closer to Creed Aventus. It's projects and lasts much longer. The smokiness is also a little stronger. Of the two, Armaf is the definite winner. I went ahead and purchased two more bottles because within a day the price increased almost $10.If you are looking for an alternative for Creed Aventus that is affordable, I highly recommend Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man.”
“Ultimately, I keep thinking this cologne reminds of an oriental medicine, think of a pot of stuff cooking with ginger and cloves and ginseng, and god knows what else -- pepper and chicken, maybe? It's hard to pinpoint what I think it smells like. I can also liken it to a violin case -- think of the woods and rosin within the violin case. It smells like that and it lacks the organic dimension of fragrance that a cologne should have in order for it to be wearable. So while I think the cologne is fundamentally OK especially due to its strength, it can be off-putting. It's hit-or-miss. Even 1 spray on the neck makes this cologne a very heavy worker. In my experience, so far, this has been true of most other Armaf colognes.Another noteworthy aspect of Club De Nuit Intense: The bottle is great. It looks good and it's even HEAVY for its size. I like it a lot. But I simply don't plan on wearing the cologne often...”
“I have a few decants of Creed's Aventus from various decanters and salespeople. This Armaf clone smells more like one of the decants, than the others (a smoke heavy batch from Nordstrom), but really it's very close to all of them. The opening spray is a bit harsh, but once it dries down after a few minutes, the cloneday match comes out. It's powerful, pineappley, smokey and good. All in all, this will get me through a couple more months without springing for a real bottle of Creed, but at the end of the day, only the original will truly satisfy me. To the inexperienced noise, though, this will be indistinguishable from the real Mccoy. Great blind but for me. As with all fragrance, YMMV.”
