“I imagine most folks here are for one reason ... because they don't want to pay $350 for Creed's Aventus so they are looking for an alternative. Let me say right off the bat, I am an Aventus owner/wearer ... and quite frankly, I am sick of the fact that given the cologne is so expensive, it's unforgivable that Creed's batches vary so much from bottle to bottle and they have dulled down the longevity since it's creation over a decade ago. Creed Aventus, and it's smoky pineapple/citrus/apple spice scent was so unique and unlike anything else, that it soon overtook Green Irish Tweed as Creed's signature scent.Creed's Aventus, at best, lasts about 1-2 hours on someone's skin these days ... whereas it used to last two or three times as long. Oddly, it lasts much longer on clothing and often I can smell it weeks after on a dress shirt or blazer yet on the skin, it's gone in a few hours. The same seems to hold true for Club Nuit Intense these days ... at one time it was a long-lasting powerhouse scent but has since 2018 been diluted and dulled down and now lasts an hour or two, at best. It's hard to expect more from a sub $40 scent which mirrors a cologne that costs 8-0 times as much. However, most who know that it USED to be 100 times better, stronger and more similar can take issue. The scents are similar, I will admit. In the way that Cool Water and Green Irish Tweed share a lot of the same characteristics and an unfamiliar nose may not be able to tell the difference. Obviously, the Creed is always going to smell less synthetic and more balanced at the price. However, I will admit that there is a lot of similarity between the two.Club Nuit:Much more sweet smelling. Mostly apple and spice. Not a whole lot of smoke or pineapple, at all, which is what Aventus is famous for. A lot more one-dimensional whereas Aventus is more balanced. In order to smell it on body or clothing, you need to get your nose close. It does not project well and does not linger for hours. I get 40 minutes - 2 hours max. Usually more around 1 hour.Aventus:Many layers ... sweet fruit (pineapple, apple), smokiness, spice, wood. It is more balanced and the layers are what makes it so unique. While it too has a short longevity, I get 2 hours on skin and several days on clothing. Club Nuit dissipates on clothing or skin in under an hour. At it's best, Creed Aventus projects and someone standing in the same space as you can smell it. Club Nuit, you have to be right next to someone and practically have their hand or neck touching yours to smell it. Smells classy and powerful until it dissipates and makes you more of a center of attention.Maybe batch variety varies with Club Nuit, as it does with the actual Aventus. However, whatever batch I got is as weak as water ... I bought the Eau de Toilet vs. the EDP because it said EDT lasted longer. Would I buy this again, even at the low price of $35? Nope. It's just too darn week, even though it is kind of amazing that they were able to capture Creed's signature scent so well. I had hoped to have a bottle of Aventus to wear at high end functions, etc. and keep the Club Nuit to use as an everyday wearer. However, given how weak it is, it's not worth that to me.Packaging-wise, I am surprised at how well made the box is ... it even has a little 'clone' of the Creed folded paper at the top of the box. And the 3.4 oz EDT decanter, although it looks like dollar store cologne, is surprisingly heavyweight. It feels more like a paper weight than a cologne bottle ... which is actually a negative because the bulky, heavy bottle with jagged square edges is difficult to pack vs. Aventus's bottle which is more like a flask that easily stores in a dopp kit or overnight bag. You could never put this on a shelf without people thinking it was gaudy. I can't even imagine the size and weight of the 6.8 oz. EDP version! You'd almost need a separate bag just to carry that.Bottom line:I think I missed the boat on this ... it seems like the time to buy it was before 2018 when they diluted the formula and cut the time it lasts by 50-75%. This has been happening with a lot of colognes such as Abercrombie Fierce, Sean John Unforgivable (once a clone to Creed's Milsime Imperial) and others. What's there now does not smell like the 'designer imposter' stuff you'd buy at the dollar store. This smells more expensive ... for the 40 minutes before it goes away. My recommendation is not to buy this unless you are able to reapply constantly.”
“Disappointed,After a couple of months of going back and forth debating if I should pull the trigger on this I finally did.I've used Al Haramain L'Aventure for a while now, and I though I should at least try this once. Ran out of Al Haramain L'Aventure Eau De Parfume and with out hesitation I came here to get this one.... but first.... I should read some feedback right. After scrolling down and reading some of you guys, seems there was a batch with silver atomizer and that's what you want, those silver version was the long lasting shizz nitt... buuuttt... it's highly probable that's what you won't get... It finally came and it was the "new batch" with Black Atomizer that everyone in here hates due to the lack of or poor performance. It came on nice, initial thoughts are that this is brighter than Al Haramain L'Aventure, citrus notes are right in there, fresh, ooh la la, it's magnificen, it turns on so well, just a step ahead of AL HARAMAIN, this is nice just give it 15 min to mellow down and allow it to get where it needs to be to shine. It does this very well, crispy! buttttt.... then, after the 15min you gave it to settle down it it's starts descending on a steep down hill and quick!Becomes real soft just over 4hours! You can still smell it, but now it's not as bright and the projection Reminded me of Cool Water by Davidoff, where you had to respray a couple times a day to keep it alive. And that's why I started to move away from Cool Water and looking towards something that would perform better as a kid. Well here it's the same feeling. Starting off Al Haramain L'Aventure Eau De Parfum it's EDP! this is EDT... hands down the greatest difference. I sometimes can still smell Al Haramain L'Aventure on my clothes after a wash, I can catch a whiff on my seat belt days after using the vehicle, the couple of days sitting on the seatbelt is as strong as Armaf after a good 8-10 Hours on a shirt of the sae day. On skin it evaporates a good 80% of it, i do give it like 20 out of 100 on skin performance after 4-6hours, you can still smell a tiny residue of what once was a great smell. NOT TAKING A CRAP ON THIS, BUT.... I guess 1. bring back the "silver" batch and 2. Make it EDP.”
“Aventus and its clones are on their way to being this generation's Polo Green / Cool Water / Acqua Di Gio. That means that as popularity hits critical mass, you are more and more likely to run into people wearing the same thing. A victim of its own success.Of course, many people still wear the aforementioned three, but I would urge you to consider taking a moment to find a fragrance that is more unique to you, there are many out there. Scent is the sense most strongly tied to memory, and you lose a valuable opportunity to make a lasting impression on someone when you are wearing a fragrance someone else in their life already wears. If it sounds like I am overthinking it and you just want a simple smell-gooder, then I would recommend Afnan Supremacy Silver. It is the Aventus clone I used most before moving on to better things. For this "fresh" space, I would recommend Guerlain Homme EDP (very classy) and Bulgari Aqua. Also worth sampling would be Dunhill Icon Elite, Carolina Herrera Chic for Men, Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir (or Cartier Declaration Parfum).”
