Dear Isle Blue Team, I would like to begin by saying that I would happily give Isle Blue a positive overall review in terms of your booking process and communication. However, unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the villa we stayed in, Villa La Mer, which fell significantly short of the standards advertised online and outlined in our itinerary. From arrival, it was clear that the property was not in the condition we had been led to expect. The villa felt tired, poorly maintained, and in need of considerable attention. What was advertised did not reflect the reality of our stay. While the daily maid was friendly, the level of service did not align with what was stated. Beds were neither made nor changed for five days, and bathroom bins containing soiled toilet paper were not emptied for six days, until I specifically requested this. General daily housekeeping was minimal unless prompted. The pool was dirty upon arrival and had to be cleaned by my husband before we could use it. The pool attendant only visited once during our stay. Outdoor furniture, including sun loungers, was dirty, damp, mouldy, and in some cases broken, making the outdoor areas uninviting and unsafe. The corner outdoor seating area was also broken and unsafe to sit on. Inside the villa, there were numerous maintenance and safety issues, including: Broken bathroom taps One shower missing a drain cover, with broken tiles and sharp edges Poor water pressure and no hot water in one bedroom basin A blocked sink, which my husband had to unblock himself A bed frame hanging loose from the wall, which posed a serious safety risk Air conditioning units malfunctioning and leaking, leaving a damp patch above the bed Old, damaged bedside tables and wardrobes with visible dirt and handprints A vacuum cleaner that did not work We also experienced a complete loss of water on day five, leaving us without running water, showers, or drinking water for approximately 24 hours. Externally, the driveway was in a very poor state of repair, with broken concrete, loose stones, and an uneven surface. Our car struggled to grip and wheel-spun when leaving the driveway, making it feel unsafe. Additional issues included: WiFi not working reliably around the pool area Broken parasol Broken pool tiles Excessive noise from neighbouring dogs barking and howling day and night, which significantly disrupted our sleep A gardener arriving unannounced early one morning with loud equipment while we were still in bed While the on-site staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which we truly appreciated, we were disappointed that we only saw the villa representative, Illytd Forde-Justin, twice: once to collect payment and once on departure. It would have been far more reassuring to have had an introductory visit or check-in earlier in the stay. Overall, the villa did not meet the advertised standard and requires substantial maintenance, repairs, and attention. This was very disappointing, particularly given the expectations set by the listing and the premium nature of the booking. I felt it was important to provide honest and detailed feedback so this can be addressed for future guests. I would appreciate your response and would welcome discussing this further. In the interim, we have removed Villa La Mer from our portfolio pending a stringent review of the property and its condition.
