“This is a tough one. The house was lovely, well designed and looked like the photos. Amazing garden. Outstanding staff, led by Carlos Hamilton, was warm, capable, informed, flexible and went out of their way to meet our needs. Except for the gunfire from the shooting range behind us, location on the grounds of casa de campo was pretty great. Our frustrations will seem minor but were important to us: (1) for us this was a long working holiday, and reliable WiFi service was key. We asked about this in advance to confirm. Even so, the service was very unstable and often unavailable. Even cellular service was erratic. Extremely frustrating, since this was an understanding on which we had made our plans. (2) for the price, hot water, including in the half bath and outdoor shower, should not have been an issue, but it never worked. (3) casa de campo is very nice, but there is an extra charge for everything. And the greens fees on the golf courses are obscene. Still, we would go back -- mostly for the people. It was nice to be in a place where both foreign and local tourists go on holiday. Food at the restaurants was pretty good, too.”
