“Pros - hotel staff were friendly, they organised pick ups for us which was a huge help if we were trying to get around Hakuba, especially at the end of the day coming back from other resorts. The on-site onsen was a lovely way to unwind from skiing. Wadano itself was really nice with the forest and lots of good restaurants and bars nearby, and the nearest ski lifts are pretty close. Cons - the running of the hotel was a bit disorganised, we had a few mix ups with pickups and they were often late to pick us up. The room was very basic and had no room for any storage, the bathroom was tiny so I basically used the onsen showers instead - overall a bit of a run down place. Breakfast was quite basic but not a big deal. Also if you don't want to be in a hotel with lots of families and kids, probably not the place for you. We were there at peak time so probably was a bit over-priced for the service we got, but ski resorts and Japan are generally expensive.”
