“Lovely, helpful English-speaking staff (Ishi and the Aussie lad, whose name escapes me! Plus young Mr Belcher on the waiting staff). many of the other staff were smiling and helpful and tried exceptionally hard to deal with our questions/requests - we are totally non-Japanese speaking! very attentive staff in the breakfast room and Japanese restaurants. Rooms comfortable and very clean. Ski storage good and boot drying room a real plus. having never experienced an onsen before the whole obligatory nudity-thing was a little off-putting but we gave it a go and enjoyed the outside pool in particular. The bar area, on a mezzanine overlooking the large, open reception area, lacked cosiness but was pleasant enough. lovely outlook over the snow-covered woodland garden; exceptionally quiet rooms.”
