Way back in the day when Galaga was current, I watched a friend get to the 'star trek' challenging stage on 1 quarter! Suffice to say, now I can do that but in 1/4 scale on this Numskull Quarter Arcade Galaga machine! And it doesn't even cost me a quarter now. Highly recommended, all the sights, sounds and gameplay are spot-on authentic to the real machine!

This is amazing, I’ve literally waited my whole life to have my own in-home arcade and this collection has made my dream come true. This is one of my favorite games and the cabinet works so well. I love it! I will definitely be back to order more!!

The attention to detail on these quartercades really is impressive, faithful reproduction of everything down to the buttons, the instructions, the artwork and the way that it was attached or adhered, right down to the rubber stripping around the sides. Galaga is one of the classics, if you experienced it first time around in the arcades, having it right in your home without it needing it's own arcade space is great. The microswitch joysticks and buttons work really well and you can get right back into these classics as the ROMs are the originals running on bespoke hardware. Even if you didn't experience it the first time around, have a go, you might just find out why so many kids of the 80's became addicted to these games ;0)

This cabinet is perfect for anyone who loves Galaga and especially those who remember playing it in the arcade. It's virtually perfect in terms of how the cabinet looks, and it plays extremely well. The HD screen is clear, the sound is just like you remember it and the gameplay is top-notch. Put it this way: if you're good at the game on the actual machine, you'll be able to directly translate those skills to this machine! I actually score higher here than in the arcade, because the smaller screen means you can see the whole gameplay area at once without having to move your eyes. While these units can be played (and quite well at that) if you go to town on them as if it were a full sized machine, you'll probably regret it. While the controls seem strong enough, if you were to use it primarily for playing, things may get loose after a few months. I play mine occasionally, but mostly it's an awesome display piece. I'd like it to last as long as it can. Having a few of these Quarter Arcades together really looks awesome: they're in scale to the originals, which means they're in scale to each other...unlike, say, the cheaper versions from other companies where they simply swap out the cabinet art but it's all the same shape cabinet. There are some other things that I'd point out, just because some folks will want to know: the fit and finish of the cabinet may not have been 'perfect' on my first unit, but Just Geek made it easy for me to get a replacement. Hopefully at some point Numskull gets the QC details ironed out, but you can buy with relative confidence. They do what it takes to 'make things right'. There's been a lot of talk about 'shimmer' and the aspect ratios of these screens in comparison to the originals. While it's original code, the screens aren't 100% exact size replicas and this means the emulation has to make the play area 'fit' to the HD screen. So you shouldn't expect pixel-for-pixel perfection, but who knows? Maybe future cabinets will get those kinks worked out. It's something that comes along with these games, each of which were largely programmed to be played on a bespoke sized monitor. But the video does look great, overall. I really couldn't see it getting much better than this, no matter how much I love old-school CRTs. Nobody should expect the kind of visuals CRTs provide, but it's definitely on par with better quality handheld video screens today. Simply put, if you love Galaga, you need this in your life! And I'd do it sooner rather than later as they have been known to take production pauses, or even sell out as in the case of the Pac Man models. The packaging also looks great, display worthy for sure.
