The Spiralator - 50' coil Reviews

The all new Spiralator is a revolution in tube insulators. Unlike a normal fin tube which you must put on before tensioning the wire, the Spiralator is put on after the wire is tensioned. A quick twist of the wrist and it snaps onto the wire. Comes in 4" and 6" length complete with 2" barbed staples, or 500 piece bulk box without staples. Also available in 50' coils, excellent when diagonal brace wires are too close to hot wires.

I'm in North Texas, outside of Dallas. I have cattle pasture fenced in using 7 wires of high tensile fence, all hot. I am using metal TPosts with plastic insulators on every post, and I have numerous welded pipe fence corners to anchor the wire and guide the wire along the terrain. I have plastic and ceramic insulators on all of the corners. In some places I have metal H-frames for guiding through a ravine, and on those, I have welded 1" nuts that the wire passes through. Earlier, I had the simply tractor supply black plastic insulators to keep the wire from arching against these 1" nuts, but over the years, those rotted and cracked. Next I replaced them with split automotive hose using 2 different size pieces, one inside the other. However, apparently, automotive hose has metal strand fibers embedded in it that will eventually short out your fence. I order this coil of Spiralator, cut pieces to fit, snapped them onto the wire, and fed the pieces into the 1" nuts. Now I have a perfectly insulated fence, no shorts. The plastic in this coil product is much thicker than the tractor supply stuff. If it holds up to the sunlight (says its UV treated), this should be the golden solution for a long time. I used to always buy local, but Kencove is getting my business going forward.

Works great for insulating electrified woven wire at posts and braces.

These are handy to have around for those "whoops" moments. The are, however, harder to clip to t-posts than the normal in-line insulators. I have just taken to making my own clips with high tensile wire, so it is not a big deal.

I have not had an opportunity to use it yet, but from the makeup of it, I am sure that it will be an immense time saver when repairing broken posts and replacing deteriorated sleeves without having to cut the wire.

Very useful for replacing missing insulators. I recommend them.

This appears to be a very well built insulator. My only reason for not giving a five star review is because of the price.

The Spiralator is a clever way of easily insulating installed electric fence wire. It takes some hand strength, but all you do is twist it on. If you twist it off, it is reusable. This review is for the 50-foot roll. I simply cut off as much as is necessary to insulate electric fence wires that are in the vicinity of metal objects. My applications require from two feet to ten feet, so the short pieces of Spiralator would not be suitable.
