Electric Netting 12/40"/7" - Posi/Neg, 164' Reviews

3.9 Rating 13 Reviews
Read Kencove Farm Fence, Inc Reviews

Positive/negative netting is perfect for dry regions or for ultimate control. In this system the animal completes the circuit through the net. Safely contains sheep, goats, pigs, and dogs while providing superior protection from predators. The lightweight, portable allows the fence to be moved and set up repeatedly with no tools required. Creates pastures and enclosures in minutes.
- 12 horizontal lines, 40" height, 7" vertical line spacing
- Semi-rigid vertical stays provide stability and help prevent drooping between posts, which could cause shorting
- Horizontal lines are spaced closer together at the bottom and farther apart at the top to provide excellent predator control
- Long-lasting, highly conductive, 304 stainless-steel conductors ensure years of reliable service
- Braided top strand provides unparalleled strength
- 13 double-spiked step-in posts are built into the netting for easy installation
- Orange/green, 164' length

A fence charger is required to electrify the netting. We recommend a .25-joule, low-impedance charger minimum per net. (Example: 4 nets connected together requires a 1-joule charger.)

This netting was targeted as the lower protection against small animals in my garden. I have a higher rope electric fence that covers from 3.5'-->7'. I liked this product since it would be much easier to set up than the wire rabbit fencing as I have for the past three years. The quality of the netting is very good. However, this fence with the current step in posts is totally inadequate to hold the fence tight enough to keep it from sagging and shorting out on the ground. I tried adjusting the posts to try to get them as tight as possible, but they are so flexible, they simply blend and/or often pull out of the ground. The sagging is further exacerbated by the 10' distance between the ~3/8" diameter posts (too far apart for the weight of the fence segments). I like the concept of the fence but it will NOT WORK without additional support at the ends and along the path. This will probably add an additional cost of ~$50 plus time. All of which is putting me behind in planting. My solution is to: 1 - Attach a separate T-Post at the start to anchor one end. 2 - Attach 2" insulator stand-off to the T-Posts (lightweight) on the "oposite/back-side" (at every post). and wrap the fence around the outside of the fence (it's hanging on the outside 2" stand-offs). 3 - Continue the fence around the posts overlapping the start post so there is a 6' walk in. 4 - Add additional T-Posts to the current rope fence to provide additional support. If the posts where half an inch or thicker and about 6" higher the fence would probably work. the pegs that are inserted into the ground could be at least 3" longer

I can't use the product, as I can't get the step in spikes into the (frozen) ground. My older Kencove fence has all metal step- in spikes, rather than two metal spikes held together by a cheap, plastic platform. My older fence is extremely easy to install; I can use a screwdriver and a hammer to make holes into which the spikes fit; not so with this fence! The spikes are much larger and won't fit into the holes made by the screwdriver; moreover, one spike is much longer than the other (also not the case with the older fence) and so it is difficult to gauge where to put the holes, as both spikes don't touch the ground at once. Had I known that the design had changed, I would not have ordered this fence. I won't bother returning it, as I don't want to pay shipping and handling. I will, however, list it for sale on Craigslist, because I can't use it. I need something portable and easy to install in all kinds of weather scenarios. I really wanted to like this fence, and I chose Kencove over Premier- which I guess was a mistake.
