Kencove 3:1 Reel with Guide 3:1 Geared Reviews

4.4 Rating 21 Reviews
Read Kencove Farm Fence, Inc Reviews

The Kencove Geared Reel has a 3:1 ratio, which means for each turn of the handle, the bobbin spins 3 times. When rewinding long lengths of twine or ribbon, the extra cost of the geared real is a worthwhile, time-saving investment.Holds up to 660ft of ribbon or 1,640ft of twineFeatures an easy-grip, PVC handle, wire guide, and handle hookIncludes a non-conductive gate handleDesigned to hang directly onto a perimeter fence by the metal hook on the handle frameTo electrify the polywire, simply use a 4ft Jumper Lead (MPC). Attach one clip to the electrified perimeter fence wire and the other to the metal loop on the side of the reel.Upgrade your reel with the steel guide (RRWG). It bolts quickly to the frame and provides a sturdy guide option that can weather the elements

It works just the way it is suppose to. It does get a little heavy when you fill the reel to capacity, but manageable.

Works very well, only issue is the protective rubber handle slips and if you are not paying attention you will get a shock when lifting off the electrified fence. Customer service is outstanding.

This reel is pretty much identical to the obriens, it feels a little stiff so far but I'm still breaking mine in, I like to load mine up with a lot of turbo wire (1200+ft), another review pointed out that the handle is curved too close to the reel, this is true with a lot of wire, but some tools and a little muscle can bend it out slightly to accommodate extra wire, then it works fine.

Heavy, hard to crank. My other brand is much easier to handle

I now own 6 of these and have never needed any repairs on them. That should tell you they are a good sturdy product
