The KIWI On-line Wire strainer is our strongest on-line strainer. This strainer is made in the USA and features a solid zinc cog and a class 3 galvanized U-shaped pin.
It can be installed directly onto the wire strand without any cutting or crimping.
To install the KIWI On-line Strainer, simply insert the wire material into the slot on the strainer, use a tool to apply tension and remove any slack, then lock in place with the provided U-shaped pin. You can use a ½" drive socket wrench to apply initial tension, but for best results, use the EZ Daisy Strainer Handle (TFD) or the convenient Rapid Tightener (TFDR) to apply tension from start to finish.
This strainer is strong enough for use with high tensile wire and will work on wire up to 9ga. The cog beveled and narrower than other on-line strainers. The wire slot is approximately 3/16” wide.
*Not for use with coated wire products like Hotcote and Kencote. For coated wire applications use coated wire tensioners.

Well made strainers with handy marks on the face to line up the correct holes on both sides. We continue to buy these because they are solid cast and galvanized.

Works great to 250 pounds of strain. Doesn't work well at 400 -500 pounds, just don't ask me how I know. The locking pin can be a little difficult to get through at times. Helps to have a helper but one person can use by themselves, it is just a little tricky to get the tension just right. I preferred the ratchet style tensioner for my installation, but they cost more and you have to cut the fence, adding resistance into the system.

I like these right behind the Grapple. They are light and are easily put in place anywhere along the fence line. They really a simple genius idea! Lots of good solid contact insures there is no loss of power flow due to their use.
