The Speedrite Fault Finder is a combined voltmeter and fence tester designed specifically to easily find problems on an electric fence. The large back-lit LCD display clearly shows the current, voltage and current direction simultaneously. The Fault Finder has the unique feature of displaying the previous current briefly so the user can compare values. The audible current indicator uses sound to direct the user to the fault. The cordless design means there is no ground probe or electrical cable needed.
Comes complete with an integrated belt clip and secure wire guide for more accurate readings. The robust impact- and water-resistant case is designed to withstand rugged outdoor handling. Housed inside the case is a replaceable 9 volt battery, which will give up to two years of trouble-free use. The low battery warning system will show the battery status on the display.

I have used this several times and I am very pleased with how it shows the voltage, amps and which direction the fault is. It is easy to use, I explained it to my 5 yr. old granddaughter and she was able to figure out where the fault was.

I'd use no other fence tester: I am on my second one after losing the first one in the field--readings are easy to see and so is the direction of any short.

Excellent product. I had my last one 10 years before I replaced it with this one. All I did to the other one was replace batteries. I even ran it through the washer. Can't beat it.

Thanks Kencove and Stafix. I found my fault! a old fencewire was in contact with my bottom wire on 5 wire cattle fence. A portion of the old wire was submerged in the ground. I cant believe i didnt see that wire after walking the fenceline 5x... But, money well spent The only issue I had is the unit doesn't stay in an on mode. I had to press the button every time I checked the fenceline..... I hope I dont have to use it often.
