“The meter works very well and is really fast. I finally have a way to confirm I in fact in ketosis. The $1 strips really make this attractive, as I can now find it affordable to run experiments and determine how eating and exercise habits affect my generation of beta hydroxybutyrate. My only negative would be not with the meter itself, but with the lancer. It's mostly painless, but it doesn't seem to do very well at actually drawing blood. My first two readings required 2 lances each as I didn't get enough blood to take a reading first attempt. Perhaps my technique will improve with time.”
