“Is another step, but is needed when your hair needs it (check before buying if your tone of hair today needs it to reach the color you want…review both)…my base color does not needed it, so I used to have a touch-up later.”
“I used color prep before dyeing with dark blonde. After dyeing dark blonde, I waited fearfully for color prep to do its magic and take my hair from green (!!) to the desired color within the promised 48 hour window. It did not disappoint. Love the results. Hooked.”
“I was starting to get some grays and wasn’t ready for that! As a breast cancer survivor, I didn’t want to use chemical hair dyes. A friend told me about khadi and I thought I’d give it a shot. I use color prep followed by black (not the blue black one). When I first started using it 2+ years ago, I had to do it every 4 weeks. But now, I can go 8 weeks. I’ve even pushed it to 9 weeks when iv been pressed for time. It works really great for me. Looks totally natural. It takes time which is annoying but is a small price to pay for a natural product that works well. I leave color prep in my hair for 1.5 -2 hours depending on how much time I have. I leave black in my hair for a minimum of 2 hours - longer if I have time. I put it in and just go about my day getting work done around the house. It’s 1 day every 2 months. - not bad. I get stuff done around the house that needs to get done. Or I read or binge a show and get much needed R&R that I’m not good at giving to myself. Either way, it’s a productive use of my time. My hair looks great and I’m not using chemicals. And the color is lasting way longer than my friends who use chemical dyes and have to color every few weeks. Win win win. Highly recommend”
“Color prep works perfectly with the shade of brown (ash brown) that I use to color my hair. As long as I follow the instructions (deep cleanse shampoo --> rinse --> apply color prep and leave on for 1 hour --> rinse --> apply ash brown (I leave on for 2 hours for best color results) --> rinse using after color conditioner), my hair turns out the perfect shade of dark brown every time - it even colors my stubborn grays!”
