“I see no difference between the quality of this spirulina and the spirulina I have purchased from big high-street stores. But the price is well over double! It does come in a nice glass bottle but I don't think this warrants the high price. However, it is nice quality spirulina and a great addition to smoothies, oats and a variety of things to supplement your diet.”
“There’s a little confusion over what’s actually received here as the product label states it’s powder but the description on the webpage states it’s powder in tablet form. I received powder, which is what I prefer, but tablets would have been very acceptable too.Anyway, it’s a lovely deep green spirulina, and typical of the brand, is clean (being only the powder itself with nothing added), organic and has the added assurance of purity by third-party lab testing (which I don’t always see with Spirulina products, so is very much a plus). It also comes in a darkened jar to help preserve nutrients (which is just as well as this wonderfully healthy blue-green algae has a particularly rich nutrient profile). I’ve had a lot of spirulina over the years and view it as a health food staple of which I’m sure has contributed to my continuing good health. Although often advertised as being a source of vitamin B12, some sources suggest it may not be in the most bioavailable form for humans, so it perhaps shouldn’t be relied upon as being one’s primary source of the vitamin.Typical of spirulina, the powder mixes better with an electric blender than just trying to stir it into liquid by hand, but blenders are easy to come by and are a asset for any powder, not just spirulina.Taste-wise, it’s like other spirulina powders, but is pleasant enough to drink on its own. Of course, it can be easily mixed with fruit juice, other powders or milk (or milk substitutes) if preferred. I mix it with coconut and soya milk, which works well.To conclude, this is a quality and pure spirulina product from a trusted brand that I could easily take again.”

“I’ve always been drawn to natural supplements, particularly those with a strong scientific backing. Spirulina caught my attention for its impressive nutritional profile and potential benefits for energy, immune support, and overall vitality. My primary goal in trying this supplement was to address occasional fatigue and bolster my nutrient intake in a busy lifestyle. After some research, I opted for this product due to its organic certification and third-party testing, ensuring it met the highest standards for purity and safety.Spirulina is a powerhouse of nutrition. Its core composition—rich in protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin B12, and iron—offers an array of health benefits. On a molecular level, spirulina contains phycocyanin, a pigment-protein complex with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Phycocyanin is known to scavenge free radicals, reducing oxidative stress in cells and protecting cellular integrity. Iron in spirulina enhances haemoglobin production, vital for oxygen transport and energy metabolism, while Vitamin B12 plays a key role in maintaining nerve function and red blood cell formation, making it particularly beneficial for vegetarians and vegans who may lack this nutrient. From a physiological perspective, spirulina's high protein content—more than 65% by weight—supports muscle maintenance and repair, making it an excellent choice for those with active lifestyles. Additionally, its bioavailable iron can aid in reducing fatigue, especially in individuals prone to iron deficiency. Research indicates spirulina's effectiveness in improving immune function, possibly by enhancing the activity of natural killer cells and macrophages, which are critical in the body’s defence mechanisms. Studies have also explored spirulina's neuroprotective effects, suggesting it may support cognitive health by reducing neuroinflammation and promoting antioxidant activity in the brain.Compared to other algae-based supplements, spirulina stands out for its exceptional digestibility and bioavailability. Unlike chlorella, which requires mechanical processing to break its tough cell wall, spirulina's thin cell membrane is easily digestible, allowing for better absorption of its nutrients. Its cultivation in controlled conditions further enhances its purity, setting it apart from competitors. This supplement’s strict adherence to organic and non-GMO standards ensures minimal exposure to contaminants, an aspect I deeply value.I chose this product primarily because of its rigorous quality control and certifications, including organic certification by the Soil Association. Additionally, its simplicity appealed to me—100% pure organic spirulina with no additives or fillers. The opaque packaging was a thoughtful touch, preserving the supplement’s freshness and protecting it from light degradation. I took the recommended dosage of 6 grams daily, often splitting it into two doses, which worked seamlessly with my routine. After several weeks of consistent use, I noticed a tangible improvement in my energy levels and focus. Tasks that previously left me drained felt more manageable, and I experienced fewer midday energy slumps. These changes aligned with the known benefits of spirulina, particularly its role in reducing fatigue and enhancing overall vitality. Its high protein and nutrient density likely contributed to these effects, validating my decision to incorporate it into my diet. This product’s certifications as organic, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly make it inclusive for various dietary preferences and lifestyles. Modern diets often lack micronutrient diversity due to processed foods and nutrient-depleted soils, making supplements like this essential for bridging nutritional gaps. For those with active lifestyles, vegetarian or vegan diets, or specific health concerns, spirulina offers a natural and sustainable source of critical nutrients. The recommended dosage 6 grams is manageable, with no adverse effects experienced in my case. For optimal absorption, I suggest taking it with meals containing a small amount of healthy fat. Spirulina pairs well with smoothies or juices, making it easy to incorporate into daily routines. At £18.36 for a 200g bag, this product offers excellent value for its quality and nutrient density. Its competitive pricing, paired with its high standards and efficacy, makes it a worthwhile investment in health. The packaging—compact and designed to maintain freshness—is an added bonus, offering convenience and practicality for daily use or travel.Fun Fact: Spirulina, a cyanobacterium, is one of the oldest life forms on Earth, dating back over three billion years. It was even consumed by the Aztecs, who prized it for its energy-boosting properties. NASA has since studied spirulina as a potential food source for astronauts due to its unparalleled nutrient density.Thank you for reading my review. I hope it provides valuable insights into this supplement. I enjoyed exploring its benefits and sharing my experience, and I hope you find it as helpful and fascinating as I did.
