Another good KIKI health product, I am so lucky to have been able to try various of their products. They are always well produced, and contain organically sourced ingredients, I have been using mushrooms for a long time now so this is great to now have a Shiitake capsule to add to my routine, I have many products with Shiitake in it, but this is just a plain Shiitake only capsule. Very easy to swallow capsules, make these a really great step into function mushrooms for new people, or a great addition for those already taking them. These are just great. Great value

The capsules are typical size and easy enough to swallow. I appreciate the fact it is suitable for vegans with a vegetarian capsule. You are getting 60 here and if you stick to the lower recommended serving size of 2 then they will last you around a month. You get a decent expiry date so more than enough time to use this supplement up. Certainly one to consider if you are looking for a quality extract.

These KIKI Health Organic Shiitake Mushroom Extract capsules are a concentrated form of shiitake mushrooms, which are known to have some interesting health benefits. What's cool about these ones is that they're an extract, not just powdered mushrooms. This means they're more potent because the extraction process makes the beneficial compounds, like polysaccharides, more readily available for your body to absorb. Think of it like making tea – you get more flavour and goodness from steeping tea leaves than just eating them dry. They’re made entirely from the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms – that's the part you'd actually eat – which they grow on wood logs, apparently to get the best stuff out of them. They also standardise the extract to 50% polysaccharides, specifically beta-glucans. These beta-glucans are supposed to be good for things like lowering cholesterol, supporting healthy gut bacteria, and giving your immune system a bit of a boost. The manufacturer also says they contain triterpenes, sterols, and polyphenols, which are other naturally occurring compounds with potential health benefits. It's also reassuring that they’re organic and made from just the mushroom fruiting bodies, so you know exactly what you’re getting. The extraction ratio is 15:1 to 17:1. This means that for every 15 to 17 parts of raw mushroom, they use one part in the final extract. It's a way of showing how concentrated the final product is. They're also free from gluten, wheat, preservatives, and fillers, which is good if you're trying to avoid those things. Now, I usually prefer mushroom powders so I can adjust the dosage myself, but these capsules are really convenient. They’re easy to swallow, and you don't have to bother about measuring anything out. What I also appreciate about KIKI Health as a brand is their commitment to sustainability. They use glass jars with metal lids, which is a big plus for me as I’m trying to cut down on plastic as much as I possibly can, and either I can reuse the jar afterwards or I can fully recycle it.
