“First I want to thank the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this thermometer in exchange for my honest review! Where has this thermometer been hiding? I LOVE this thing! It reads so quickly! Once you put it in the ear and push the button you get a reading before you can even say "Thermometer". It is crazy how fast it is! The app is very helpful and easy to use as well. You can create a profile for each family member and the app records every temperature. You can also add in medications so that you never have to wonder when the next dose is due again! The app will even remind you when it's time for the next dose of medicine. The app also will ask and record any symptoms as well as advise when to reach out to the doctor. I love that the app and thermometer makes it so easy to take care of your sick child but especially in the middle of the night when you are half asleep! The fact that it tracks the temperature and time without me having to input it is my favorite feature. The speed of the temperature read is also very convenient for kids! The reading is very accurate and reliable as well. I cannot recommend this thermometer and this brand enough! This really is the best Thermometer I have ever used!”
“I am really loving the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer so far! Past thermometers I've used have given inconsistent readings even when taken back to back, but the Kinsa was consistent each time. Thankfully my family hasn't been sick recently, but I've still checked all 4 of our temperatures a couple times just to play around. The reading remained consistent with each family member even when repeated multiple times. I also really appreciated that we didn't need to purchase applicator tips like other ear thermometers I've used in the past. I really like that we can each make our own personalized profile on the app and choose which profile to add each reading too. The app and thermometer are both very user friendly and easy to navigate. “I was given the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This thermometer is really neat because it connects to the Kinsa app on your phone. The thermometer was really easy to set up. It actually took longer to open the batteries than it did to get the thermometer and app set up. Once you create an account, you can add a profile for each person that you want to measure on the app. My 4 year old had fun selecting her avatar (a unicorn) and we put in her birthday. The thermometer was easy enough for her to use and it made it easy for me to take her temperature as well. The app is also really easy to use. There were a few times I got an error message on the thermometer and it said something about a hardware update but it wasn't a constant problem. My favorite part of the app was being able to track the temperatures for each person. Luckily we were all healthy when using this, but it would be really useful if your child was sick so you could see how their temperature has gone up and down. I also felt like the thermometer was reliable. All in all I would recommend this product as it is easy to use and the app helps you keep track.”
“I hope I'm not the only mom who goes to take an ear temp only to realize I don't have any more probe covers, so I was so excited to try out the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer (probe cover free!) as a member of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We tested this out A LOT since I need to take my 3yo's temp every school day for COVID screenings. I also appreciated that it was app connected and could save temperatures. This saved me a couple times when I took the temp before leaving the house then totally forgot what it was by the time we got to school and needed to report it at check in.
Quick Take-aways:

^^ this was my favorite app feature by far because I didn't need to get the app out in the hustle and bustle of the morning, but I could store the temperature later
(=) The probe tip needs to be cleaned with alcohol swabs even though the item is water resistant. I don't often have rubbing alcohol on hand, though I always have soap and water!
(-) Every time you store a temperature in the app, it asks you a series of questions regarding related symptoms. Since I'm usually taking temps for school screenings, it's annoying to have that pop up every time.
(-) I think the app can be a little alarmist if you get a high or low reading. I'd recommend it be programmed to suggest you take the temperature again, or in the other ear, a few times before saying "Call your Doctor"
Overall:
Thermometer takes accurate, quick readings and the app lets you store the information to track temps over time (helpful for both sickness and health!). It was very easy to clean, and study enough with the included probe protector to keep in my purse for on-the-run to school screening.”
“My two older children are in school and part of their daily check in process is for parents to screen for temperatures at home and report through the school's fever tracking app. The thermometer we were using previously frequently gave us inconsistent temperature readings, so we were very excited to try the Kinsa thermometer as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
The app was very easy to use and navigate. I love that you can create different profiles for family members. Since I have to take two different readings every morning it makes it easy to track which reading is for each child for school reporting. My kids liked being able to pick their avatar, something that seems so trivial but helped my kids be more cooperative with temperature checks.
This thermometer is FAST when it comes to temperature checks, which is a HUGE win for our family. I have a 3 year old that I have to report on, and it is hard to get him to sit still for a reading. The Kinsa works quickly, so I am not wrestling down a small child.
I compared it to my previous thermometer by doing multiple temperature checks. We consistently got the same reading when checking our children, as compared to our old one that would fluctuate .4 degrees per reading.
I do wish that it came with the ear sanitizer plastic tip cover that you can change out with each person that uses it, but it wasn't a huge deal breaker. Overall the design is standard, it doesn't look fancy or like a technical gadget, but it is pretty nifty to use. I am happy with the product, the readings it provides and the ability to track temperatures in an app.”
“I was given this ear thermometer to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It couldn't have arrived at more perfect time as the whole household was not feeling great. Setting up the thermometer in the app was fast and easy. There were many features of the app that were incredibly helpful including the symptom assessment and tips for dealing with those symptoms.
The thermometer worked quickly, which we all know is helpful with sick kids. However, we did find that the sensor end was a little bit too large for my 4 year olds ear to get an accurate reading. Overall, we are very happy with the thermometer but will stick with using it on the older kids.”
“I was able to very quickly get the app set up and add multiple profiles for my two children. Set up was intuitive and easy to follow; my only concern was tracking of information but the app allows you to opt-out of that or choose to share information for virus and trend tracking. I love that the app keeps track of temperatures (you can save readings to different profiles), so that in the middle of the night when I'm exhausted from caring for a sick toddler, I can easily know if their temperature has gone up significantly or not. I also found the thermometer itself super easy--one button operation--and accurate given it's an ear reading. “I have been on the lookout for an accurate and fast ear thermometer. I have two busy boys that don't want to sit still for long and I like to check the temperature often before school. The app is awesome! I will use this often next school year to monitor temp and also any symptoms they might have. It will be very helpful at doctor visits since everything is time stamped and I can record medications and symptoms, as well. I tested on myself and compared it to a basal body thermometer. It was always within a degree. I also love that you can have multiple family members on the app and it just takes a click to toggle between them. I'm never going back to my old thermometers again!
