“I was given the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This thermometer is really neat because it connects to the Kinsa app on your phone. The thermometer was really easy to set up. It actually took longer to open the batteries than it did to get the thermometer and app set up. Once you create an account, you can add a profile for each person that you want to measure on the app. My 4 year old had fun selecting her avatar (a unicorn) and we put in her birthday. The thermometer was easy enough for her to use and it made it easy for me to take her temperature as well. The app is also really easy to use. There were a few times I got an error message on the thermometer and it said something about a hardware update but it wasn't a constant problem. My favorite part of the app was being able to track the temperatures for each person. Luckily we were all healthy when using this, but it would be really useful if your child was sick so you could see how their temperature has gone up and down. I also felt like the thermometer was reliable. All in all I would recommend this product as it is easy to use and the app helps you keep track.”
“I love this thermometer. First of all, it is extremely fast, which is critical when you have small children who don't want to sit still to get their temperature taken. It also doesn't require probe covers, which is wonderful, because who wants to go searching for probe covers that got lost somewhere when your kiddo is feeling lousy (and who really wants to have to buy new probe covers when you run out? What a pain). The app is very easy to use and will give you age-specific information regarding whether you should be concerned about a temperature reading. It also stores the temperature readings so you can refer back to them and don't have to write them down anywhere. AND it allows you to enter associated symptoms when you take a temperature, and also allows you to set reminders. I think the only downfall is that you do seem to need the app to get it up and running, so it's probably not a good option for someone without a smart phone. Overall, I love this product and highly recommend it!

“I'm a mom of 3 kids ages 5 and under, so needless to say, we are exposed to a lot of yuck. Taking temperatures has always been a struggle, especially for my 2 year old who struggles with recurring ear infections. He doesn't want anything near his ear for longer than 2 seconds and ear thermometers in the past have been bothersome for him, especially during infections.
Thanks to the Stellar Review Panel, we were able to try this Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer and its been amazing. It is insanely fast to read temperatures, even during infections and it closely matched temperatures taken on other thermometers. I found it to be a great size and easily fit in my 5 year old, 2 year old, and 5 month old's ear. I love that it doesn't require any plastic disposable cover like others we have used in the past.
I think the game changer for me was the app. It is really simple to set up and navigate (it took me about 3 minutes to set up everyone's profile) and I love that it customizes recommendations based on the age of the child and the other symptoms. Since I have an infant, that feature is my favorite because my threshold for seeking care is lower for my 5 month old than my 5 year old.
I also really love that it records records of medications given. The timeline on the app is a great visual to see when/if temperatures begin to change and if symptoms are resolving.
Perhaps my only downside to this is that it relies on batteries. We don't always have batteries on hand, and it would be great if Kinsa had a rechargeable option for this thermometer.
Overall, we really love this product and will not go back to our other thermometer!”
“This is the absolute easiest thermometer I've ever used. By easy, I mean you literally put it in one ear and within a second you get a temperature reading. The best of this thermometer is the app - I was able to create profiles for all three of my children and even myself. Everything stays tracked directly on the app. The app also includes a "Local Illness Risk" indicator, which shows you the risk of COVID plus other common colds and flu in your area. “I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am so glad that I did. I love this thermometer! With COVID and the pandemic it has been a fight to constantly check my three year old's temperature. This is the only thermometer that I have been able to use on my son and trust me I have bought a lot over the last year. No only does he sit still for me to check, but it is so easy to use he enjoys checking my temperature as well. I also love the app and that I am able to track my child's temperature on a regular basis. While it would be nice if there was an option to check forehead as well, overall this is a great option and I would highly recommend it for those with young children.”
“Wow this thermometer is fast! We have another brand ear thermometer that isn't as fast or accurate. I am impressed with how accurate this thermometer is - it remains within a .3 margin when taking my daughter's temperature. The app uploaded the temperature immediately - it is a quick, clean app that is easy to read and use. I love the history piece of the App- it gives me such a piece of mind to see my daughter's resting temperature and compare it to any anomaly. “The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer is very easy to use and provides quick readings. Where some digital thermometers take a few seconds, this one pops up with my daughter's temperature in less time than the others. This means less time for her to get upset about having something in her ear and having her temperature taken.
The app is very straightforward and helps to provide insight based on the temperature. At one point my daughter's temperature had registered as a low temperature and the app advised what this could mean and when to be concerned. This definitely had to be my favorite part of the app, hands down.
I appreciated how consistent the temperature feedback was between readings. Some of the ones I have had recently advised taking three separate readings in order to get an average temperature. However, this thermometer provided the same readings consistently and left me feeling a lot more confident and at ease with what I was seeing.

“First I want to thank the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this thermometer in exchange for my honest review! Where has this thermometer been hiding? I LOVE this thing! It reads so quickly! Once you put it in the ear and push the button you get a reading before you can even say "Thermometer". It is crazy how fast it is! The app is very helpful and easy to use as well. You can create a profile for each family member and the app records every temperature. You can also add in medications so that you never have to wonder when the next dose is due again! The app will even remind you when it's time for the next dose of medicine. The app also will ask and record any symptoms as well as advise when to reach out to the doctor. I love that the app and thermometer makes it so easy to take care of your sick child but especially in the middle of the night when you are half asleep! The fact that it tracks the temperature and time without me having to input it is my favorite feature. The speed of the temperature read is also very convenient for kids! The reading is very accurate and reliable as well. I cannot recommend this thermometer and this brand enough! This really is the best Thermometer I have ever used!”
