“Holy smokes this product is amazing! As a mom of two, an ear thermometer is a must in my medicine cabinet. This thermometer though is far superior to any I have ever used before. It is like the Apple of thermometers! It links up to an app which allows you to create an avatar for each of your kids. When you use it to take your kids temperature it immediately displays the results on the thermometer and in the app. The app then asks you if your child is experiencing any other symptoms and assists to advise you from there. You are able to save temperature readings and review them when necessary as well as share them via email, text, etc. Additionally, you can keep track of when you gave medication, set reminders, make notes, enter a diagnosis, and input symptoms as they arise. Aside from the incredible technical specs it is extremely user friendly, has a beautiful design (I love the cap on the top to keep the piece you place in your ear clean), and is amazingly affordable. My favorite feature though is how fast it works. Nothing is worse than struggling to take the temperature of a kid who is sick and fussy. The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer works almost instantly. Literally once you place it in the ear within approximately 2 seconds you have the reading and it's super accurate! I am so thankful I got to test this amazing product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It is definitely going to be my go to from now on when I have to take my children's or my own temperature.”
“I received the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer through the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review. The thermometer is easy to hold and feels comfortable in my hand. I do feel that the probe is a little big. They recommend gently pulling the top of the ear back in order to get the probe in the ear for an accurate temp but I still worry if it is getting far enough into those little ears. I love that there is an app where you can add each family member and track their temperatures. This is so helpful when trying to remember temperatures at a doctor's appointment after a sleepless night and especially if more than 1 family member was sick! It also tracks symptoms and provides recommendations for calling or going to the doctor. I would recommend this thermometer to anyone!”
“I'm a mom of 3 kids ages 5 and under, so needless to say, we are exposed to a lot of yuck. Taking temperatures has always been a struggle, especially for my 2 year old who struggles with recurring ear infections. He doesn't want anything near his ear for longer than 2 seconds and ear thermometers in the past have been bothersome for him, especially during infections.
Thanks to the Stellar Review Panel, we were able to try this Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer and its been amazing. It is insanely fast to read temperatures, even during infections and it closely matched temperatures taken on other thermometers. I found it to be a great size and easily fit in my 5 year old, 2 year old, and 5 month old's ear. I love that it doesn't require any plastic disposable cover like others we have used in the past.
I think the game changer for me was the app. It is really simple to set up and navigate (it took me about 3 minutes to set up everyone's profile) and I love that it customizes recommendations based on the age of the child and the other symptoms. Since I have an infant, that feature is my favorite because my threshold for seeking care is lower for my 5 month old than my 5 year old.
I also really love that it records records of medications given. The timeline on the app is a great visual to see when/if temperatures begin to change and if symptoms are resolving.
Perhaps my only downside to this is that it relies on batteries. We don't always have batteries on hand, and it would be great if Kinsa had a rechargeable option for this thermometer.
Overall, we really love this product and will not go back to our other thermometer!”
“I received this thermometer from Stellar Panel to try with my kids. Overall I absolutely love it. It gives very quick and accurate readings. My favorite feature is that you can use it with or without the app and "fancy" features. BUT you will love the features on the app. The reading with trigger age specific advice, care tips and when to call the doctor. As a nurse, I think that advice with be great to help with first time parents are parents without a lot of healthcare knowledge and it was spot-on! If I was being super critical, I'd be curious to see how the ear piece works with little newborns, as it seems some wheat big. But I would still 100% recommend this to any parent/ caregiver.”

There is also a really great app that allows me to track each person's temperature separately and organized over time. It also gives great information about what the rate of illness is nearby where you live. “I received the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer a couple of weeks ago- just in time for my three littles to get a nasty stomach bug. Though I was disappointed to see my kids sick, I got an opportunity to put my Kinsa to the test. For the first round of sickness, the Kinsa thermometer worked great. However, after the second kid came down with the stomach bug, it wasn't reading accurately. As my kid's temperatures were running high, I went back to my old thermometer. I did continue to use the app to help track temperatures, symptoms, and medicine doses. The app is spectacular. I was able to track the amount for each dose- remembering the proper dosage for each child gets difficult as the sickness continues and the sleep is non-existent. The app also gives pointers on how to manage the fever and when to call the doctor or go to the ER. It was super helpful in managing all three kids' temperatures and medicine intake. For the app alone, the Kinsa was super helpful. It was incredibly disappointing that the thermometer wasn't reading the correct temperatures when I needed it most, but the app was incredibly helpful for this tired and stressed mama. “I really like how fast this thermometer is to set up and to use. My daughter got a cold last week and, especially given the pandemic, we were concerned when she started running a fever. I really appreciated that the thermometer gave me a reading in under 2 seconds, a must for any squirmy sick child. I found that the temperature reading did vary depending on how I angled it, so I sometimes retook the reading a few times, especially if it was on the border of being a fever or not, for which I deducted one star. It seemed to be very comfortable for the kids: neither of my children complained about any discomfort when I asked how it felt to "tickle their ears" with the thermometer.
My husband and I both easily downloaded the app to our phones and coordinated our use and tracking of the kids' temperatures, which is a fantastic feature and helped us communicate with the doctor and monitor the temperature and medicine dosages properly. Especially when parents are woken up in the middle of the night with a sick kid, it's amazing to have access to that info and a fast-working device to help everyone get more sleep.
