“I absolutely loved how quickly this took a temp. it's such a nice feature considering that a little one doesn't want to sit'still long to have their temperature taken. I liked the app ? very easy to navigate and sync up. From what I could tell it'seemed to take a reliable temperature. it's a small thing but I really liked the baggie that you can store it in. I'don't like the plastic tubes others come in because I swear the cap gets lost after like the thI'd use. I received this thermometer free through Stellar Product testing panel.”
“My toddler always has some sort of sickness and I am constantly wondering if I need to take her to the doctor or not. The Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometer was the perfect fix. My daughter has sensory issues and never allows things in her mouth so it was perfect that I could use the thermometer in so many different ways. These include oral, under the arm, and rectal. I was able to take her temperature under her arm really quickly with no problems whatsoever. I took my own temperature multiple times before taking my daughter's and the readings were consistent and correct so it appears to be reliable and accurate. I love that it connected to the app. The app was so easy to use and I was able to set up a profile for all my family members so all our information is kept separate. It only took about 3 minute to download and completely set up the app. Its very user friendly and intuitive so there was no learning curve time. My favorite part is that it'stores the past temperatures so I was able to track over time how my daughter was doing. It also has a graph that marks where the temperature is and how to care for it'such as when to take her to the doctor or to take care of her at home. I also like that you can input your zip code and it gives you a rating of the likelihood of getting sick in your area at the time. Thanks Stellar Product Testing Panel for the great product! I highly recommend it for its ease of use and the price point is perfect for what you are getting.”
“I was given this thermometer to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. As a mom of 2 young kI'dos (2 year old and newborn), having a thermometer in the event one of them gets sick is essential. I really like that the Kinsa thermometer can be used alone or with the app on your phone. The app is free to download and I like that it tracks measurements as they are taken, making it easy to trend temperature readings and show your doctor quickly. The thermometer gave me a quick and accurate temperature readings. It has a flexible and lightweight design, which allowed me to easily hold the thermometer with my wiggly newborn and made it easy for my toddler to hold the thermometer by himself. Temperature probe covers can be used with the thermometer, but are sold separately. So you may want to pick up a few probe covers if you will be sharing the thermometer between family members.”
“Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this thermometer to try out; as a mom, one of my main priorities is keeping my family healthy and safe. A good thermometer is essential; the Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometer is an incredible tool to help navigate times when your family gets sick and can be used with all life stages as the temperatures can be taken orally, underarm, or even rectally.
I tested this thermometer against two other thermometers that we have in our home already and it matched the temperatures they provided every single time while being FAR faster. It has an app that makes the age-old nighttime worry of, "Wait, what was my chI'd's temperature last? Is this new temperature higher???" a thing of the past as the app tracks the temperatures and even provides guidance based on temperature and symptoms recorded.
My toddler was easily able to sit'still through its super-fast temperature taking time (about 8-9 seconds by our count) and was quite happy to pop the bubbles that the app can show on your phone while connected and taking a temperature. The app itself is intuitive and easy to both use and set up.
I have zero complaints about this thermometer--I LOVE how fast it is to take an accurate temperature of even the squI'miest toddler. My most favorite thing of all, however, is how the app provides "guidance". I'll include screenshots from my phone showing the screens we were shown once my chI'd's temperature was logged; the app asks if there are severe symptoms, then mI'd, and provides information and tips on how to proceed based on all of the given information. it's so reassuring, especI'lly to sleep-deprived parents' to have a bit of extra information at your fingertips that I'mediately gives you a sense of direction.
I'd happily purchase this for myself and would gladly give it as a gift to my friends.”
“I received this thermometer to test as part of the Stellar Product Panel and I'must say I am VERY impressed. I have another tech thermometer from another brand and the Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometers performance is far superior. Temperature readings are faster and I belI've, more accurate (even with a squI'ming toddler). My favorite feature of the thermometer is that its actually flexible so it'stays in place even with a little movement and still works quickly.
The app download was quick and functions well. I love that I can make dedicated screens for each family member to track everyones temperatures (especI'lly during COVID). The app is very user friendly.”
“I have five kids, ages 3-14, and when one of them gets sick, it's almost a given that a second sickness follows. A fast, accurate thermometer is a must have in our house.
The Kinsa Smart Thermometer gives a reliable reading within 10 seconds. This is very helpful for the younger, more squI'my kI'dos. I also downloaded the app that goes with it and it is very user friendly and provides a great way to track your chI'd's temperature throughout their sickness. In the time we have had this, none of my kids have been sick, but I love that they can each have an I'dividual profile to track their symptoms and temperature.
While I love this product, I have two cons, one that's not such a big deal and one that matters more for me, personally.
The Kinsa allows you to take your temperature either orally, rectally, or under the armpit. it's a preference in our house to use the armpit method and when you do that, you add a degree to the temperature to make it accurate. Since you can I'dividually select the method under each temperature reading, it would make sense to automatically add this degree under the armpit one, BUT the Kinsa App does not do this. So when the temperature is tracked, it is always a degree lower and you have to remember to mentally raise it one.
Secondly and more importantly for me, I'do NOT like that I have no say on whether or not the information I am gathering about my family members in the app can be used to gather data as a part of sharing 'population health insights'. These are terms in their Privacy Policy that you have to agree to in order to use the app. For me, this violates our rights to privacy surrounding our health care and status of our health. I'don't want my or my family's information being used for data and statistics gathered about our county and I'don't want anyone having access to that personal information. This is definitely a personal preference for our family and doesn't detract from the accuracy of this thermometer, I just won't be using the app.
Overall, I give this thermometer 2 stars. We can do without all of the fancy stuff and even do without the tracking of information. We just need something that is fast and accurate.
Also, this is Made in China and we try to avoid buying anything made there.
Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me this thermometer to try!”
“I have a 4-year-old, 3-year-old, and a newborn. We use thermometers around here often. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was really happy with this product. Since it was so quick to test temperature, I tested with two other thermometers I had laying here and all three got the same temperature every time. So I would trust this thermometer to be reliable and accurate when checking my sick chI'd's temperature. It took the kids' temperatures quickly and was easy to read with not only having a bigger screen and numbers but also has a smiley face/sad face if the temperature is normal/high. My kids loved that feature along with the backlight screen of green (normal temp) or red (high temp) so they could tell me if they had a temperature without actually reading the numbers. I used the thermometer with and without the app. The app was very easy to use and navigate and enter different profiles in. Once I connected the thermometer to the app, I struggled a little bit on how to get it to work without the app as at first, it kept giving me an error code. So I would suggest before you have sick kids in the mI'dle of the night to get very familiar with how to use it'so you don't always have to have your phone or tablet nearby to take a temperature. My favorite feature of the app is that they give you insight into what to do with the symptoms and temperatures you have entered. I know even as a thI'd-time mom sometimes it's hard to decide if it's a simple cold or something more so it's nice to see what the app recommends before making your own decision. Overall, I think this is a great thermometer and a great app and would definitely recommend it to my friends with little ones, especI'lly ones that hate having their temperatures taken.”
“We have two toddlers...pre-pandemic they were always sick from regular ol' daycare germies. So that being said, our family is well versatile in thermometers and hands down the Kinsa thermometer is the easiest, fastest and most convenient thermometer we have used. The app was very ease to download and navigate. My kids liked how flexible (they both said "soft") the tip of the thermometer was when measuring their temps and both told me they prefer this flexible tip over our other "hard" thermometers. It is super simple to pair the thermometer with your phone and I never knew I needed to have a thermometer that helps track temperature history...but now I'don't want to not have that feature. Pre-Kinsa, I was manually storing temperatures in the notes app on my phone...the Kinsa way is so much more efficient and I have easily switch between the 3 profiles I have set up in the app (myself and the kids). If the thermometer registers a temperature the app will prompt you to answer if you have any other symptoms. The app also provides guidance on what you should do at various temperatures. Wish I had known about this product earlier in parenthood! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this thermometer!”
