“KPC is a great nice to have but it is not essential and frankly, we could live without it and go back to regular box and litter without too much inconvenience on our part. It is nice having the fresh boxes show up every five weeks to remind us to change them out completely, not just scoop and add fresh litter. Changing boxes out (we have three) takes almost as much time as when we used dedicated boxes and litter, only difference is we don’t have to wash and sanitize the plastic boxes. So some benefits there. We are on fourth iteration of KPC boxes - main issues with them I see so far is a.) the litter included is not sufficient to fill the box and the plastic bag holding litter is often leaking litter inside the box which makes a mess opening and setting the box up. We have to add store bought litter to get it to a full level the cats expect, and b.) the cost of the KPC litter is excessive - it is more cost efficient to use store bought. Which starts to call into question the whole purpose and justification if we are just going to get a Cardboard box every five weeks. We are still on the fence about it. There is definitely some value we are just not sure how much of a necessity it actually represents.”
“My first order with KPC was the litter box with fine grain silica. The fine grain silica did its job--it lasted 30 days, no odor, but was really dusty. My boyfriend ended up coughing due to the dust and could even smell the dust from across the room. No joke. To avoid the dust, you would have to pour and stir the litter real gently. So, after feeling disappointed, I decided I was not going to order from KPC anymore...BUT, since I really liked the litter box, I gave it one more shot. I ordered the clay litter, and noticed very little dust (only when I poured the litter into the box), no dust when stirring the litter the way I do (not gently), and clumps great/better (compared to the Fresh Step Unscented Clumping Litter). So far, no odor. I do have to add in litter because the cats like to dig around.”
“I like the idea that I don't have to clean a litter box. But the litter does not last an entire month. I still have to buy more litter by the time I get my next box.”
