“I initially tried the fine grain silica and fell in love with the fact that you only have to scoop solids and urine just absorbs. But I couldn’t deal with the amount of dust it left- my allergies were going crazy and my cat’s fur felt yucky from all the dust. When it came time to purchase a new bag, I decided to try this soy litter and also added the box because I have been eyeing it for a long time. Clean up is SO EASY now and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to traditional litter boxes. I did not remove the little cut out on the front (to lower the entrance) because my little old lady doesn’t squat when she pees so she tends to spray a large area I added some pee pads to the front of the box and purchased the dome add-on; together they work wonderfully with the height of the box! It took my kitty a while to get use to it but that is probably because I ran out of her old litter so I didn’t mix the two together as the instructions stated. I did end up pouring some litter crystals over top of the box to entice her to use it and she did end up using it right away. She was fully transitioned within a few days! As for the soy litter - it has a weird Play-Doh like smell that I’m not very fond of. It also sort of smells like a barn, but the good news is it does not smell like urine or feces AT ALL! I can’t even express how pleased I am with the odor control from this litter. I plan to try the diatomite litter soon but for now I am extremely happy with the organic soy! Thank you Kitty Poo Club!”
