“Upon placing an online order with Koh, a plastic atomiser was auto-added to my shopping cart, which I could not remove/deselect. I did not need or want an atomiser, nor do I wish to contribute to unnecessary plastic consumption. As soon as I placed my order, I emailed the customer care team, kindly asking them to remove this unwanted item. Further, I suggested adding a 'remove' from cart option on their website or consider not adding this freebie at all. Unfortunately, my request was responded to saying it was too late and the unwanted item was being sent to me and that I should give it to someone else if I didn't wish to use it. I then responded, advising I wanted them to understand my reasons for not wanting this free item that I didn't ask for - I am trying to make small changes in my life to reduce my overall consumption, particularly plastic, to mitigate my impact on our precious planet. I also asked if they would advise reply paid details to return this unwanted item. I also asked if my feedback was considered regarding Koh having the option for customers to choose not to receive potentially unwanted free promotional items. However, I have received no response to date. As a self-proclaimed 'eco-certified' business I'm disappointed that they are happy to encourage unnecessary plastic consumption, which leads me to believe that they are not as eco-friendly as they claim and greenwash customers to believe otherwise.”
