“I have had plenty of other jerky brands, but can't do better than this. Simple yet tasty, convenient size package so I don't end up eating the whole lot in one go. Discount on bulk orders on their website, means that I tend to buy a lot, which also ends up being eaten quicker than I'd like.”

Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot to me and the team. We've got a few recreational abalone licenses among us, and spend a bit of time diving at Bicheno over summer. It's a great little town. Our "Smoked Chipotle" packaging features illustrations from the nearby Freycinet National Park - one of my favourite places anywhere!

Thanks for your review Kirrilie. You might be interested to know that all our beef comes from Cape Grim. All their beef farms are grass fed, and certified by a third party auditor. We even have tracking numbers so that we know which farms our beef comes from.
And yes, the only preservative we use is salt. Of course, this means that our shelf life is only 6 months, but we're told our product gets eaten well before then anyway.

Firstly, your procurement process is amazing. On time delivery, quick turn around - from a customer experience point of view, it was a pleasure to purchase from you.
I spend a great deal of time camping, hiking and climbing so I go through quite a lot of jerky. My subjective view on the product itself was that there seems to be an after taste to the jerky which I found to detract from the overall experience. The jerky itself seems to come from excellent quality beef, and I cannot fault the product in any other way, however I do find that the finish on this product is not to my taste.

Frank and fierce feedback can be hard to find, so your specific comment on the aftertaste of the product is greatly appreciated. The beef for that batch of product was "Cape Grim", so yes, we need to look elsewhere to explain the aftertaste.
The taste of our product differs slightly to most because we don't use any soy sauce in our marinade. This helps us avoid both soy and gluten, and gives us a unique flavour. Instead, we use a coconut-based product called "coconut aminos". I suspect that this may be the source of the different aftertaste that you have identified.
If this part of our flavour profile isn't agreeable to you then you may prefer our other flavours. I'm going to send you a sample pack today for free. If we can't find a better alternative within the KOOEE! range then I will be more than happy to recommend a few other Australian brands that we enjoy.
