“unfortunately I've found that using this product made me a bit itchy. Not sure if it's possibly reacting to the PH in our town water or something else? I used it as directed but found it unhelpful.”

Sorry to hear this Sarah, there must be something in the ingredients that does not agree with you. Best not to use it for your skin type.
