I bought some shady area seed from Lawnsmith earlier in the year and got probably the first success with grass seed I'd ever had. The cheap seed options just seemed not to work at all. So I've always ended up buying turf in the past. Based on this I bought some classic seed and I'm just starting to see the reward for my effort after scarifying. Only thing is I bought the wrong fertiliser - the Extra-Long Fertiliser for Clay Soil - which says it should go down in Springtime. My fault. So now I'm using up some miracle grow to fertilise before winter. I did take before pics (post scarification). So I'll put these up with my results in April / May next year (hopefully!)”

“Disappointed with results. Very patchy, a lot of seeds have simply not germinated despite good soil (new loam) and being kept damp, and average soil temps around 13-14 degrees over a 3-4 wk period.
Very disappointed given effort that went into prepping existing lawn for overseeding and getting coverage on patchy bare areas.”
