“Used 9kgs out of a purchased 10kgs following Lawnsmith's instructions to overseed my exsisting grassed areas. After three weeks there was little or no growth in the bare patches although grass seed was visible. I contacted Lawnsmith and was advised to reseed the areas and ensure soil coverage this I did using the remaining 1kg and ensuring a soil cover, now after a further two weeks there is still no sign of any growth?”
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear you’re concerned about the germination. I had emailed you earlier on to discuss this in more detail. At this time of year, two weeks is generally too soon to expect visible results. As we move further into autumn, soil temperatures drop and conditions become less favourable for germination. Grass seed needs consistently warm soil to establish, and in cooler conditions, it can take longer than expected.
Some of your seed may still germinate as the soil warms or in spring, and additional overseeding at that time can help fill any remaining bare patches.

“I have used this sseed to repair bare patches and this year, with watering (allowedd in my postcode) I have had a very good lawn. But the needs a lot of care and arttention most of the year, weeding, seeding , hollow tijning, demossing, scarifying and cutting so to be looking good the lawn requires a lot of differnt products.”
