Unfortunately the I never got to wear the boots as they had a manufacturing defect on one of the seams. The replacement pair also had a manufacturing defect. The calf strap on the left boot was not attach one end. Production and quality control issues not acceptable for a leading manufacturer. Not a good experience. My old Le Chemeau boots are 10 years old and still going strong. On a positive note the customer services were brilliant. 10 out of 10 for them.

My last boots (not Le Chameau) lasted me over 12 years and were super comfy and supported. Unfortunately I felt that brand had gone downhill a bit in that time so thought I’d try Le Chameau. The first thing that struck me on arrival is how for want of a better word flaccid they were and struggled to even stay in shape without flopping over. This differed massively from my previous pairs that have been properly rigid. I also found them to not be the best fit. I’d say there are true to size in terms of length, however my feet slide around in them even in two pairs of thick socks, so not sure why they are so wide. I didn’t have this issue with my last pair. As a result, they don’t feel very supportive and I’ve already gone over on my ankle a couple of times in them. You’d expect some support around the ankle area but with how soft the rubber is it doesn’t feel supported at all. On the plus side, they are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I did a 10 mile walk in them yesterday and my feet feel fine today when I was anticipating a few blisters at very least! All in all, they look great and are comfortable (except for the poor fit), but I feel like they are more of a fashion accessory than the capable work boot that I was hoping for. I honestly don’t see them lasting anywhere near as long as the last pair, though for £160 I really do hope to be proved wrong!
