Le Chameau are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker, each pair is unique. Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“I ordered the women's Giverny Jersey lined wellington boots in a half size up from my usual size. They fit perfectly and are so comfy. I also ordered the boot bag which is great as well. I am really happy with both and would highly recommend!”

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. If the fit isn't right and you haven't worn the boots, please feel free to exchange. Each boot is handmade, so there are occasions where there are slight variances in the final feel. Regarding the white coating, this is a natural process called bloom, which occurs in high quality rubber in certain atmospheric conditions. If you buff the boots with a cloth (and some rubber spray, if you have some), it you will bring the original colour through. I hope that you end up enjoying your boots and that they serve you for many seasons to come.

“Disappointed sizing wrong very inferior was Very disappointed i think you should stick to the better quality versions I bought these because my husband has been having them for years but the more expensive boot and loves them I thought the foot support would be as good but this is not the case .”

I am so sorry to hear that you were not happy with our Giverny style. As with all our rubber boots, the Giverny is handcrafted by a Master Bootmaker using the same Chamolux rubber as we use in all our boots. It features a dual density Cross sole for comfort and traction and it is cut specifically for women. Each pair is meticulously tested for performance and quality before we send them to you. It is so disappointing to hear that you were not happy with the style and I hope that you give us another chance in the future. Warm regards.

“Received the Cherry Giverny in 7.5 and was very pleased. The color was lovely and the boots felt molded for my feet. Still working on the right sock - too thick, it's a little snug, not thick enough and my heel slips out. And, my order came with a complementary boot bag. Well crafted boot. Would definitely buy again.”
