Le Chameau are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker, each pair is unique. Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“Considering the price, products should be more thoroughly quality checked. Messaged Instagram page however, had no reply. Boots were partially covered with a white substance. Connections at back didn't quite pair up properly in parts. Most importantly, they were of differing heights by a good few mm! Have returned for an exchange however, will be looking elsewhere if new boots are also of poor quality of which shouldn't be an issue considering cost.”

Thank you for your feedback Sarah. I am really sorry you had this experience with us and not aware of any white substance that covers our boots. I don't suppose you have a picture of them with this substance do you? As you may know, our boots are handcrafted by a Master Bootmaker so each boot is unique however they are all based on the same last so should be the same shape and height. It sounds as though you had a bit of a faulty pair. I really hope your new pair are just what you want but please do contact us if any querires or problems and we will do our best to help you.
