The Levy Light Electric Scooter Green / 10" Tubed Tires / 6.4aH Removable Battery Reviews

4.6 Rating 265 Reviews
Swappable battery is a very unique and interesting design but it comes with trade offs. I live in queens and the streets out here has made this thing take a beating over the last year. Battery nearly fell out the scooter once from all the bumps and pot holes. The connection pins on the battery wore down after about a year and needed to get them replaced with a newer stronger version. Luckily it was pretty easy for us to have it down at their shop down town.

I love my Levy Plus. I live in the city (Boston) and rarely ever go more than 2-3 miles at a time so I definitely could have gone with the standard model as long as I brought the charge with me for longer trips. The Levy Plus is a bit heavy so if you don't need the range, the standard model is likely a better option. While there are similar scooters made by foreign manufacturers that are cheaper, a scooter is a product that may occasionally require maintenance and parts. I chose Levy because they are an American company and they sell spare parts. I have had my Levy Plus for over a year and have bought 2 10inch solid tires and reached out to customer support a few times. I recently fell on my scooter and messed up the brakes - the back wheel got stuck as if I was using the handbrake when I was not. I am not very savvy with repairs, but I reached out to customer support with some pictures and videos of the problem and they helped solve my issue in less than a day. They sent a video that showed exactly how to adjust the piece that controls the brake (the caliper), and how to tighten the handbrake after. I was able to do this on my own as the videos were very simple and clear. Imagine breaking a part on your scooter, or falling/crashing and messing something up. With a foreign company, you are likely going to be on the phone for hours trying to reach someone who can help, and chances are they won't sell individual replacement parts. Levy can sell you any part they make and you know it will fit your scooter properly. They have great customer support and many videos that show specifically how to remove/replace the part you are fixing on the model you own. Even though Levy is not the cheapest brand, the customer support is worth the price. You don't want to have to buy a whole new scooter if/when you break something.

The Levy Plus scooter has been great so far. We got it to put on our boat for trips to marinas where scooting around can be really helpful and fun. It takes up a lot less room than a bike, so that's a real plus on a boat. Our teenage son can't get enough of it. We'll get more soon.
