My name is Tanuj Iyengar and I am a senior at Brooklyn Tech High School in New York City. By working with Ruth, I was accepted into Cornell University via the Early Decision application round. Ruth was far more than just an editor. She went above and beyond to inspire my brainstorming process, from providing examples of her own responses to the prompts to sending me podcast clips of people talking about the topics I was writing about. She helped me learn more about myself as a person, which led to more substantive and compelling essays. Regarding her work directly with my essays, her feedback was very detailed and supported with multiple suggestions to fix the problems I had encountered. Overall, it was truly a joy to work with such a supportive essay coach who played a significant role in my improvement as a writer and my admission to Cornell.

Ruth coached my son for his Canadian applications, as well as general advice. She helped us with challenges coming from the U.S. to Canada that we did not even anticipate. She reached out the admissions offices to resolve issues that got us personal attention, and also avoided the voice-mail/3-time-zone issues that would have got in our way. As a result of her coaching my son scored 2 for 2 of his Canadian applications (in a year when US competition was up by 80%!) and is thrilled by the outcome. Thank you so much Ruth!
