“I bought this as a gift for my husband. He ended up loving it so much and showed it to everyone he knows, that I just bought a 2nd one as a gift for 1 of his brother's birthdays coming up. I've been a yocan fan for a long time. Every product I've ever bought has never failed me. “Was skeptical because never got a accurate answer then I asked a buddie it reads up to 752 F so it’ll read but not 100% If it’s accurate but it does the job for a perfect temp one I take it aroun 530-540”
“I like it, but it takes some willingness to live with its two main problems: First, the hot knife cap comes off way too easily. Second, the thermometer's reading can vary wildly with distance. It seems most correct or accurate at about one inch, say it reads 600F. At half an inch it might read 750, at an inch and a half it might say 450. When you're aiming for a window of like 25 degrees it's not great. Might be worth taping a straightened paperclip to it or something just to get a consistent distance from where you're trying to measure.”
