I have used Lion Country's trade-in program to upgrade my Garmin equipment several times. It has worked great for me. The new TT25 collars have worked flawlessly. These collars are a little bigger than the TT15 and work OK on my 15" beagles. You will need the shorter GPS strap to use on smaller Beagles. The standard strap is stopped by the GPS antenna before it can tighten properly. I had installed the shorter GPS strap on my last TT25. It works as well as the other collars with the longer strap and leaves plenty of the collar holes exposed to tighten properly. The easy way to replace the GPS stap feature on the new TT25 collar makes this a breeze. This is the single most important feature of this new collar. I have had most of my old TT15 collars discinegrate the GPS strap leaving the GPS antenna hanging by a wire and it is not easily replaced. Being used on well trained Beagles, I have had to test the distance capabilities of the collars but they do not seem to lose contact in heavy cover like the previous models. The 1" strap is a little big but tolerable for my Beagles. Youger pups still need a working TT15 however. The only complaint I have is that the charging clip seems a little weak.

I bought a Garmin Astro and DC collar in 2009 that worked fantastic until the day my new TT25s and Alpha 300i arrived. So far, I'm satisfied that the Garmin Quality that I've become accustomed to is still alive and well. I paired the Alpha to my new Garmin Fenix 7X Solar watch and can't believe how incredibly it all works together. Through Quality, Garmin has a lifetime customer - just wish I hadn't gone the Humminbird route so many years ago... or Garmin would have may fishing business as well.

After losing both of my Welsh Springer hunting buddies to old age I was looking for an older hunting dog as I am pushing 80. I was given a retired 9 year old Champion English Pointer, with some toes that had to be removed, from a Hall of Fame trainer from Clearfield. I needed a GPS as my Fieldies did not range far from me. I purchased another brand of collar and receiver that required the use of a Smartphone. I did not like using a Smartphone in the field. I called Lion Country for some advice and they recommended the Garmin 550 Plus in conjunction the the Tt25 collar. I am extremely impressed with the Garmin unit. It is everything I need. I have to thank Lion Country for all of their help. The other unit was donated to Pheasants Forever at the Veterans annual Bird hunt in Northern Pa. While hunting I ran into another hunter with the same unit and he was very happy with his unit also. Rose and I both have few years left before we hit the Rainbow Bridge to join up with my Welshies!

I love the fact that it is a little bigger then the mini and smaller and lighter than the TT15. My Brittany is on the smaller side so this collar is perfect for her.
