“Started training in the house. First the garage then threw out the house. Had Nova stay while I hid training antler. Then release. She find and retrieve. Lots of fun. Then to the field.”

“After training my labs on pheasants, I wasn't sure how they would react to the rubber antlers. At first they were reluctant to pick it up. Eventually they retrieved it. When I put the scent on it, they were really into it. The young dog has been hesitant to pick up a dead pheasant. She will bring back wings and the bumpers, but not the real thing. I have a frozen pheasant skin with the legs and feet attached. She would not retrieve that either. For some reason (only a dog's mind would know ) after retrieving the antler, she started retrieving the pheasant skin. So I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. In this case, she learned to retrieve 2 parts of different animals with 1 antler kit.”
