Hi Julie, Thank you for your review, hope you're well and had a good Easter! I'm sorry to hear that the lid is warped/fits poorly - these usually fit like a glove so if you'd like to send me some photos I'd be more than happy to look at replacing this part for you: sales@littlefieldsfarm.com There is no drainage in the base as the rain hat is meant to prevent any liquid getting into the base. If you'd prefer to return this to us if you're unhappy with the design please email us on the above address and we can provide instructions for you to do so for either an exchange for a different feeder or for a refund. We always recommend contacting us directly so that we can resolve any order issues for you prior to a negative review being left but would like to thank you for bringing this issue to our attention so that we can hopefully resolve it for you. “Arrived promptly. Small problem with rain hat blowing off in the wind. Cured problem with three one inch lengths of foam pipe insulation on lip of feeder. Now all OK.”
