“Wanted to like these, they look nice and feel sturdy and that would be durable. But they're not comfortable at all.
1. The trufit suggestion is completely off for the sizing recommendation. It recommends M, I thought that was probably wrong went for L, and I still think they're probably a bit too small, I'm 79kg and 181cm. I do triathlon so I am used to having to getting to a wetsuit etc, but these are super hard to get over my quads and just don't feel right.
2. The other negative, apart from the sizings are that the pad seems too thick. I get numbing and chafing (I don't on any other of my bibs, I have maybe 5 other brands, not including trisuits which obviously have much less padding). Perhaps the padding itself might be good over a long time, but chafing will get you before bruising does.
3. I also think the braces are too thick and more annoyingly the stitching where they connect on the front of bib is irritating and poorly joined. Would not want to wear these in warm conditions or long rides. I have another brand of bibs (cheap, with no instrgram bs) that have super slim light braces that work perfectly.
I bought these bibs for ultra gravel, but they're just too uncomfortable for more th 1-2hrs or riding. MAAP seems to really just be leaning on the instagram poser crowd rather than just making good kit. Won't buy their stuff again.”
