If, like me, you’ve been sitting on the fence about upgrading the RAM, do it. Have held out on replacing the Mac because of legacy software (namely Print Shop 2). With most things moving to web based apps upgrading from 4GB to 16GB was what it needed.
Boot up has significantly increased and rainbows aren’t spinning if any as long as before.

“My 2011 iMac was running extremely slow running the Photos App. The original memory was 2 x 2.0 GB ram. I purchased and installed 2 x 8GB RAM from Macfixit (The maximum for the 2011 iMac). The improvement was amazing. I followed Apple’s instructions. They were easy to install. I have since purchased additional Ram for my 2019 iMac.”
