Apple Pie Reviews

Novel idea, but way too sweet! If you love the sweet fried cinnamon rolls from the donut shop, you will love this pie. On the bottom, is the gooey cinnamon syrup, and swirled in the filling is the sickenly sweet icing. Even the crust is covered with sugar. It was so over-the-top sweet, we were not able to eat it.

So sorry for the poor review. Normally I would rate higher. But we did not like this at all. Hard top crust and too much, I don't know, what I call apple gel or goo inside. We prefer more apple and less saucy gel around it.

I've ordered this pie 4 times. It's my son's absolute favorite. He actually has it instead of cake on his birthday. It had solved the dilemma of what to send then & at holidays. Always a hit with daughter in law & kids, too.

Is it possible to give more than 5 stars? I'd give a million. This is without any doubt at all, the best apple pie on the face of the earth. The crust is absolutely incredible, the best I have ever eaten. I wish I knew how they make it so I could make it too. It is baked in a funky paper bag - the reason I haven't figured out yet - so don't be surprised when you see it. I would suggest before you bake it you pull the paper away from the sides of the pie as much as possible and pull it away again as soon as you take the pie out of the oven. There is a really sticky juice released when the pie is baked and I found it would stick to the paper bag and make it difficult to remove after the pie was cooled. I ended up tearing the pie in some spots trying to get the paper off. Just advice based on experience. I will continue to buy these pies as long as they are available. Not cheap - but worth it. You only live once and you can't take it with you.
