“After years of enjoying Mackenzie’s Onion Soup as a repeat customer I was greatly disappointed with this batch. Same size portion but tasteless and loaded with bland onions. Very little cheese included .. will not order again.”
“Unfortunately, the soup had no dry ice in the package. All the soup was thawed. I was reticent to cook it. When we ate it, the soup was tasty. To be honest? I’m nervous to order anything else.”
“This is a standby for a delicious first course when putting out a special dinner. Or when I am to tired cook something delicious from scratch. Tip: to achieve that really wonderful gooey chessy outcome add a good gruyere. If it can find it, “Hornbacher Gruyere” it another quality brand”
“I ordered this soup as a gift for my son-in-law, but my husband had previously received it as a gift, so we've eaten it. My husband worked in a restaurant kitchen years ago whose chef was very fussy about every step in the preparation of his French onion soup, from the croutons to the carmelization of the onions to the melting of the cheese. Hubby was enthusiastic about McKenzie's version. I was suprised that it contains no beef or chicken broth, but is vegetarian -- yet it has strong umame flavor. I definitely recommend it.”
