“We bought this cake for dessert for our Christmas eve dinner. I had high expectations for the cake, but was unfortunately it was a bit of a letdown. The cake itself is beautiful, but the taste was not as good as I expected. Prior to eating the cake, I thought that if anything disappointed me, it would be the moistness since we kept the cake frozen for about a week in our freezer prior to letting it thaw a few hours before dinner. Surprisingly, the cake was still fairly moist. However, the flavor was disappointing. It wasn't bad, just bland. Nothing really stood out as exceptional - not the chocolate cake nor the vanilla buttercream. It was just ok, and considering the price, I expected more. Also, the fondant icing, while beautiful, was too thick in my opinion, and not really edible. It's a great looking cake from a decoration standpoint, but just so-so in terms of an actual edible dessert. We won't be ordering this again.”
“I love the cake and I have it as a housewarming gift to friends who has recently moved and would be having their first Christmas in their new home. They loved it! They made it the centerpiece for a dinner party - and, of course, dessert. They said it was a sensation - and delicious. I did have problems when ordering on the website - it took five attempts to lock in the correct shipping address; it kept wanting to put in the billing address instead. But definitely happy with the product, itself.”
