“I have a large head and have always struggled to find a hat that fits me the way that I want it to in a style that I liked. Like most of the reviews, I kicked around the idea of buying a Melin hat for months but had a hard time justifying the price tag. After some time with the hat, I can't believe how well the Hydro fits & looks, but was BLOWN AWAY by how it performed.
After receiving it, I immediately left for a 6 day trip through Yellowstone where I saw 75 degree sunny days, a 40-degree day with freezing rain, and back-to-back 20 degree snowy days. It was light and breathable during the sunny warm days and kept my head reasonably warm for something that was not advertised as a cold-weather hat. What blew me away was how regardless of the conditions, the hat kept my head dry while exposed to the elements AND retained its shaped and clean style after coming back indoors.
If you're on the fence about buying one I would pull the trigger and find out for yourself what all the hype is about. You won't be disappointed!”

“Sweat resistant and waterproof. Exactly what I need in a hat. The nasty sweat lines are non existent in this. On the river I got this hat wet and boom no change in shape, size, or color. 100% would buy again!”
“Overall, I really like this hat. It looks sharp, has some unique features, and is made with high-quality materials. Melin needs a more comprehensive fitting guide that shows the entire range of head sizes each hat fits. I have a relatively large head (7 5/8” fitted) and when I measured my head XL seemed like the best option for me. While the XL fits me on the default size there’s a little bit more extra material in the back than I’d like. In retrospect, I think I would have preferred the regular size with the back adjusted a couple of snaps. Lastly, the value really isn’t great. With no discount and shipping, you’re looking at nearly $70 per hat… IMO, that’s kind of crazy for a hat. If it wasn’t for a first time buyer discount and reaching the free shipping threshold by buying two, I probably wouldn’t have ordered these hats. Only time will tell if it holds up better than an average hat.”
“The hat handles sweat and doesn't leave sweat marks which is the major need I was looking for. It is pretty rigid in feel, but tradeoffs for functionality are worth it.”

“I purchased this for my husband and not only is the fit great but it really does repel sweat and rain. We live in Florida where both sweat and rain are a constant issue. I would purchase this hat again, in fact, I think I'll get one for myself!”
