Used it to take two hats with me on a beach trip. Absolutely love this thing. It's definitely big enough to carry 4-5 hats in, but I never travel with more than one or two. In that sense, it's gonna take up room in your bag. I just put two hats in it and then stuffed with softer stuff I didn't want getting squeezed in my suitcase (snacks in zip lock bags, etc) and it worked perfectly. “bought this thinking i would use it for travel. however it was bigger than i what i thought it would be by looking at the pictures so won't be using it for that purpose. but as an avid golfer who has many hats i quickly found it as perfect storage place for 6 hats at a time and keep it in my trunk so i never forget a hat. it is very sturdy and firm so no chance of the hats getting squashed.”
