I used to use a whizzer grinder which was tedious to clean after every grind and hoped the Melitta would be a simple push button alternative that would also store beans so not taking up more space. Opened the instruction book and 'clean after each use' leapt off the page at me. I had hoped that I could grind straight into my Aeropress and bypass the ground coffee tank but the tank has to be fitted or the machine doesn't work. The hopper holds 200g of beans which unfortunately come in 250g bags here. If I ignore the 'clean after each use' the machine is worth it for a measured fine grind of beans at the push of a button

On the finest setting the grounds escape from around the edge of the container. This is rather irritating. Otherwise seems to do its job.

A coffee a day keeps the blues away. Good basic grinder. Pros - Compact machine that can grind many cups at a time. - Consistent grind size. - Click in/out receptacle to prevent movement during grinding. - Automatic off once the allocated amount has been ground. Cons - Not for large volume or professional use. - No pulse function for the last couple of beans which are usually left. - Static cling, which seems to be lessening.
