I had heard so much about this game. I was thrilled to find it at Miniature Market. I play it in solo mode often! Excited to introduce it to my family for the holidays!

Cascadia is a game with 2 dimensions of set collection. You are building a tile tableaux of hex tiles depicting 5 types of terrain. The largest contiguous areas of the same terrain score points. On this terrain, you are placing 1 of five different animal types each of which scores in different ways depending on 5 cards that are chosen at the beginning of the game. Each turn consists of chosen a pair of terrain tile and animal token, adding the terrain to your own tableaux and placing the animal token on a legal terrain. Cascadia is a quick but relaxing game with surprising depth. Our game group has enjoyed playing this repeatedly and my family likes it as well.

Cascadia is basically the Carcassonne killer. It’s simple enough to be enjoyed by more casual gamers but offers enough depth and complexity for more experienced players pursuing high scores. I think it would be a hit in basically any group.

Good balance of theme and puzzle thinking. Cascadia is very accessible and quick to learn but the depth will keep you coming back for more.
